Challenge
Above standard. Exceeding the comfort zone and expanding the classic PR of the event with the complete organization of an entirely new sports event. A unique cyclocross race in the industrial setting of Dolní Vítkovice area. A track with World Cup parameters for cyclocross riders in the categories of pupils, cadets, juniors, U23, Elite and Masters.
Strategy
To buld on years of behind-the-scenes experience in many sports. To not to underestimate anything. To prepare for unexpected events, including a snow disaster, to meet almost impossible requirements and organize a race that has no parallel in the world.
Result
470 participants from 12 European countries, 3 kilometers of track in a unique environment including passing through a blast furnace, crossing coke station wagons and 10 different surfaces.
The Ostrava Grand Prix and the UEC European Cup in cyclocross as international level C2 races in the elite and junior categories, which have earned an excellent rating from the representatives of the International Cycling Union UCI, are equivalent to the World Cup in terms of quality, background and organization.
Assignment for the event organization:
- Complete route planning of individual stages and providing related logistics
- Negotiations with the UCI, UEC and the Czech cycling federation
- Close cooperation with the representatives of the Moravian-Silesian region, city of Ostrava and DOV
- Preparation of the live TV transmission of the elite race
- Preparation of the budget, securing the financing of the action and subsequent accounting. Working with grants and financial contributions from event partners
- Management of the organizing, production team and volunteers
- Close cooperation with individual cycling teams
- Management of accommodation, meals for the production team, medical supervision, timekeepers and a delegation of referees
- Complete sports management of the event
